Supporting Young Carers Across the New Forest
A young carer is someone aged 7 to 18 who helps care for, support or worry about a family member with a long-term illness, disability, mental health condition or addiction. This could be a mum with multiple sclerosis, a dad with bipolar disorder, or a brother or sister with autism.
What is a Young Carer?
Being a young carer can affect many aspects of a young person’s life, and we’re here to make sure they don’t face those challenges alone. We provide opportunities for respite, fun activities, friendship and support, helping young carers take a break from their caring responsibilities and connect with others who understand their experiences. Whether they need someone to listen, guidance on managing their caring role, or simply the chance to relax, make friends and enjoy being a child, we’re here to help.
